High School Announcements  (Grades 9-12)

Principal's Note to High Schoolers: As we approach the final stretch of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support. This week is full of energy—EOC testing, final projects, celebrations, and preparations for the close of another successful year. Please encourage your student to finish strong, stay focused, and enjoy these last days with their classmates and teachers. Let’s make it a great week!

Counselor Note for High Schoolers: EOC testing starts Tuesday with English II.  Make sure to get a good night's sleep and eat a filling breakfast so you can do your best!

  • End of Year Trip to Silver Dollar City is May 10. This trip is for the top 15 on the points chart, Ms. Hance will start passing out slips.

Teacher announcements for Jr. High Core Subjects: 

7th grade ELA (Knight): 7th graders will continue with their “Guided by a Cause” unit after finishing our reading of an excerpt from Uprising by Margaret Peterson Haddix.

7th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, students will be watching the film Divergent. After finishing the novel, the film will give them an opportunity to apply their learning by comparing and contrasting important elements between the book and its movie adaptation.

7th grade Math (Conlee): This week students will be finishing up their unit on percentages. They will have a quiz on Friday. 

7th grade Science (Hampton):  Students will be wrapping up our unit and testing over environmental issues in our world of science.

7th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Students will be finishing the unit on Australia.

8th grade ELA (Knight): 8th graders will continue to work on their “Value of Work” unit. 

8th grade Reading (Lumpkin): This week, students will be watching the film Divergent. After finishing the novel, the film will give them an opportunity to apply their learning by comparing and contrasting important elements between the book and its movie adaptation.

8th grade Math (Conlee):This week students will be finishing up their unit on data. They will have a quiz over scatter plots on Friday. 

8th grade Science (Hampton):  Students will be looking at nuclear chemistry areas of fission and fusion while wrapping up our waves unit in science.

8th grade Social Studies (Donnell): Students will be finishing unit on the United States Constitution and taking their test on Tuesday.
