LEGAL NOTICE

Pursuant to Section 162.261-.291 RSMo., qualified applicants may file for two, three-year positions on the Hurley R-1 School District Board of Education. Pursuant to section 162.291 RSMo., qualified applicants are those who are citizens of the United States, who are resident taxpayers of the Hurley R-1 School District, who have resided in the State of Missouri for one year next to preceding their elections and who are at least 24 years of age. The election to fill these positions shall be held April 5, 2022. Qualified applicants may file for office from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on days when school is in session or on days when the Superintendent’s office is open commencing on December 7, 2021, 8 am through 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021. The candidate shall declare his/her intent to become a candidate in person and in writing in the Superintendent’s office. Candidates may withdraw their names from the ballot by stating their intentions to do so in writing and by presenting the statement in person in the Superintendent’s office no later than 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021. The names of qualified candidates shall be placed on the ballot in the order of filing. Pursuant to Section 162.203 RSMo., Board members initially elected to the Hurley R-1 School Board of Education at the April 5, 2022, election shall successfully complete 16 hours of orientation and training as approved by the Missouri State Board of Education or by the Missouri School Board Association. This orientation and training shall be within one year of the Board member’s election.
